More #Occupy Nonsense… In Oakland

In case anyone didn’t know, I am not a supporter of the occupy movement. Maybe I would be for what it could be, but in no way, shape, or form for it’s current conception. I believe it is a small group of people who wish to have a handout and like to blame their problems on others. It is much easier to say you’re poor or unsuccessful because Bill Gates has too much money, or Jennifer Lopez is too famous, but the truth is, any of us could have had those lives. I could have gone to university and studied law. I could have chosen to taken on those extra student loans and work a fulltime job while going to class. I could know have been practicing for years and be making a fortune. I chose another life instead and became a writer, but I’m happy and healthy and I have enough. And I don’t think that it’s anyone else’s fault that I’m not J.K. Rowling, or that I don’t own my own publishing company. I’m also pretty against people joining a movement with which they know nothing about, that has no messege other than “we’re going to disrupt all the people who are fine living their lives”, and has lots of complaints but not the slightest hint of a solution. Time and time again I see these video’s marked as “police brutality”. But in what alternate world do we allow people to throw eggs at cops and not expect to be called out on it. I grew up in a small town and there was respect for the cops. I wasn’t afraid of being beaten, but I sure as hell respected their authority as one should. When you don’t respect the person in uniform (when they are doing their job properly) than you make a mockery of the entire justice system that we all built. And without fail in all of these brutality vid’s I see the citizens being FAR more violent than the cops. Look at them ripping down the fences in this one, I mean, in what world do we allow public vandalism like that and expect the sops to just stand by. If we were watching this on TV and it was another other group of people not involved with Occupy, then we would be expecting the officers to take them to jail and cheering when they do. When did being part of this movement start coming with a license to do whatever you want? Anyway, that’s just a quick ramble on why I’m not a fan. Below are my comments on the posted video…

I guess this depends on how one is supposed to watch the video? Like for example, am I supposed to overlook that the citizens started swearing, threatening, and throwing things at the police first? Or that they were repeatedly asked from a safe and non-threatening distance to disperse before any action was taken? Perhaps one should over-look the fact that the crowd of protestors is much larger than the group of cops sent to deal with them and in what appears to be typical bully fashion the citizens advance on the law enforcement officials that they themselves put into place to keep this kind of behavior at a minimum. Also too if someone could at any time point out the police brutality maybe the video would make more sense to me. there is a reason the Occupy movement has gone so quiet. There is a reason that not one mainstream media paints them in a positive light, and there is also a reason that you don’t see more than a few people show up at these demonstrations. It is because the rest of us, the actual 99% don’t agree whatsoever with a group of spoiled children who have no more message than “give me because you have more” without even the slightest hint of a solution. Give any one of those people 10 million dollars and they would turn on their occupy groups in a heartbeat and fight tooth and nail to keep it. And for example, whether someone makes $25,000 a year or $1,000,000 a year, somehow they are grouped in the same “social class” as the “99%” according to this movement. Even the base msg makes no sense whatsoever. although I think it goes to show the broken logic behind this ridiculousness anyway. These people show up, make a mess cause some damage, and then our taxes pay to clean it up. They’d be just as far ahead to stay at their own house and hit it with a shovel while screaming.

It has recently been brought to my attention that some of the more hardcore supporters of this movement are concerned of issues of international conspiracies and corrumption on a far deeper level that these protests are about. Having no knowledge of those particular issues just yet I cannot comment on that either way. What I will say tho is that I highly doubt that these ground level officers or these average people protesting have any awareness of anything more than what we see right in front of us, so whether there is more too it or not, that is not what they are fighting about. What are your thoughts on the issues? Do you feel this movement is justified?
