    Remember this incredible track from 2001? Of course you do. And if you don’t, you are either too young, or you have no taste. Because whether you liked it or not, 17 year old Avril Lavigne was everywhere. She was taking names and kicking ass. She had a punk rock appeal that made the girls feel empowered, and the guys feel like she would be the perfect girlfriend they could play their guitars with. She was tough enough to have a voice, but young enough that most of our parents thought she was adorable. Not only was the song catchy, but the whole album caught our attention. And she either wrote or co-wrote all the tracks on it.”Sk8er Boi” was an anthem on how not to judge a book by its cover, and “I’m With You” made us all want to fall in love and cry. But we loved it BECAUSE it was complicated.
