@RickyGervais - Damned if he Does, Damned if he Doesn’t !

So last night as you all know was the Gokden Globes and once again Ricky Gervais was the host. Cause you know, he’s awesome. In the previous years that he’s hosted, the network and tabloids have pondered whether he is too brash and direct for such a classy awards show. There was a lot if talk about not bringing him back, but he brings in the rating and hence got another shot. So last night, while still be awfully funny, he did in fact tone it down a little bit. And guess what’s splashed across the entertainment news this morning ? “Has Ricky Gervais Lost His Edge” is the most common title. I really and actually feel bad for celebrities these days. We as the common people are so filled with anger it seems that we have developed our thought patterns to release it on people we perceive as having it better than us. I just don’t understand all this. It’s like we refuse to let someone have a break. If he’s too forward we say he’s unfit. He accommodates us and tones it down, we say he’s no longer funny. If he steps down from the gig we’ll stop going to his movies, and if he continues, we’ll say he’s outdated. Maybe if people spent more time improving their own lives, they wouldn’t have so much left over to concentrate on building others up, just to tear them down for amusement.
